Do Abyssea monsters give counters for Trial of Magian kill requirements?

Like say for the weaponskill on any monster, would this work?

Currently doing a kill 750 plaintoid monsters in abyssea. Mandys have worked for about 400 of the kills so I'm sure ws works.
