Hey I'm planning to buy a new pc but I don't really know much about them. I went on newegg.com and found 3 in my price range, which would be best for ff14? thanks!

The 3rd PC is getting to the point where its graphics card are on it's last days.

The middle PC is twice the HDD space as the first, and a slight tweak to CPU speed, for an extra 50 bananas.

Your call tbh, though I would pick out of the first 2.

EDIT: Only $30 difference between #1 and #2 because of shipping fee.

I think the iBUY would be a safe bet. I would buy a few case fans to go with it to get some push pull airflow also. With that power supply you should be able to upgrade in the future also which is a plus.

This one is the best by far

It's the best for the cost. The first has too weak of a proc compared to the one I linked, the third has a ***video card.

Hands down, the one I linked is the best of the 3. :)

If it's sufficiant to power the computer then it does it's job :). I have a 600W and a Phenom II X4, a 5770, 4GB of DDR3 and plenty of case fans and plenty enough leftover.

So I don't sound like an idort

Proc is 73W, Video card at full load is 69, Memory is 4.3W per module (2x2 so 8.6), Mobo at full I'm going to put at about 88W, comparable to other P55 mobos.

Misc case fans and led lights, well give a generous 100W (wayyyy over bid on that, but figured why not).

At top, you are lookin *338.6W :) That's less then half the power supply.

Sorry, finger seizured and accidentally wrote 238 :|

I don't know much about amd cpu's mainly because i've found that for the same speed they are the same price as intel, and I prefer Intel, however from the looks of it that cpu isn't multicore, and I wouldn't build a new pc that wasn't at the bare minimum dual core, also ffxiv says min specs to be 2.0ghz dual, which a single core to pull the same speed would have to be 4ghz, that one is only 3.4, you do the math. If you're going to load the system yourself get the oem pack for the os, i think windows 7 pro is 140$ on newegg, don't buy the retail version it's $400+. I didn't fully look at your specs but as long as your video card is atleast half a gig of vram or more (considering there's laptops with 1gb+ of vram i'd get no less than 1gb) you should be able to run the thing no problem. Also 4gb+ on ram, you could always add more later I guess, but meh It's up to you.

Another thing, if you buy OEM parts it's cheaper than retail versions, you don't get the cds or other stuff with them, but hell most of the time it's just a cd and you can download the drivers for free 99% of the time off the website, I'm limited with time due to school and work or I'd thoroughly look for you, but a decent mid ranged pc shouldn't be more than 1k US$ if you look around hard enough, personally I like Gigabyte boards, but that's me, Asus aren't bad or anything.

For the budget minded PC and Console gamer, at a mere Seventeen thousand dollars[$17,000.00], this rig could probably run FFXIV.

I like how you've gone from 0 to pro in the space of 1 page lol. The setup looks good, but for win7-64, make sure you don't get Ultimate unless English isn't your 1st language, as that's the only major difference between pro and ultimate - the language packs.

It is multicore, the hint is in the name : AMD Phenom II X4 Processor 965 (3.4GHz) AM3, Retail

See the clever little X4, suggesting that what ever is in this steampowered contraption, is to ze power of 4.

That's not really a valid comparison; a desktop PC with 512 could probably outperform a laptop with 1GB. PC version would have bigger chips and better cooling.

RAM can be upgraded as and when required, Kanbaru is only going to be using 2 of the 4 RAM slots available, so there is room to buy another set at a later date, if required (XIV uses about 1GB ram + 2GB for Windows = 1GB spare for any other application running in the background + Page File if need be).

well first thats an AMD x4 meaning its a quad...

2nd is i wouldn't build a PC to play FFXIV with an ATI card not being a brand *** they just optimized it for Nvidia cards

Actually the Radeon 5700 cards have been handling XIV pretty well with the adequate drivers, Nvidia cards still need a fix since most users are experiencing either low FPS or the client crashing upon boot.

It should outperform ATI yeah, though Ive been reading that the SLI isnt working with the beta/bench, which is odd since Nvidia co-developed it, but it should be patched with a new driver by release (though SE and Nvidia are terrible at doing this). ATI have higher shading performance which is probably why they seem to bench higher at the moment, but yeah both cards on retail release should handle it no problem.

Sounds much the same as how my AMD phenom II x6 is not being fully utilized for the benchmark ether

Overpriced, but not outside of reason. Maybe if it has a really cool case, it would warrant that price. Like Alienware.

Edit: The processor you have listed is, in my opinion, the best deal. Anything higher than that spikes to 700+ dollars, so best to use that one. It's plenty enough for anything you'd care to use it for.
