Ok. this thread is for the many questions concerning FFXIV IN GAME. not getting keys issues and all that.
feel free to ask questions about in game mechanics and such.
don't know of any other site that would have forums strictly ffxiv i would of posted there. if you know of any i wouldn't mind knowing about it.
a couple questions i have.
1. how do you join a guild of your class type? my main is a pug and i go to Ul'dah and talked to every NPC in the pug guild. none of them want to have anything to do with me other then the one that allows you to spend guild points..
2. is there any way to get new armor/weapon without crafting it yourself. i see very few bazaars and the ones iv seen are nothing more then crafting materials. all the shops. sell nothing more then crafting materials.
3. i have a craftier, and want to get materials from one character to another. is there a delivery system like there is in ffxi? or a moghouse/secondary storage for that matter. lol

1. not really sure, didnt mess with guilds during beta
2. you can get armor/weapons from npc's but i think se pulled all those items to make ppl craft.
3. you can set up a bazzar stall or w/e its called, but idk how you would transfer items to another character w/o havin to pay yourself

there are alot of sites. but each one only has an article on 1 thing... >.>
ffxivcore is probably the best one iv found so far
What rank were you? I got the impression from the NPCs at some of the guilds I was too weak to join, guessing it may be based on the job rank. Has anyone tried with rank 10/11+?

only like 9 or so. i tried on miner at rank 12 and no go

2. A. i was unaware of the world market or whatever that place was called. LOTs more bazaars in those. only the first area however. at this stage its still crafting items. but more along the lines of higher tier items for cheaper like knife blades ingots and such. there will be items showing up after craters make a few... hopefully

anybody know the basic recipe turning ore into nuggets or ingots?
i know you can take 5 nuggets and 6 crystal shards. and make a ingot (at least from copper)

when you go to do leves there are options for rank 10 ones. don't have to do them. but great camps are the ones that's usually listed on them.

Take the boat from the western part of the lower level of Limsa Lominsa. This will take you to Thanalan. Follow the road east for about HALF AN HOUR and you'll reach The Black Shroud. From there you just head north for about ANOTHER HALF AN HOUR to get to Gridania.

Does anyone know what land craft goes well with Alchemy? From that site it seems that maybe I should pick botany. I got some materials from just fighting as my Marauder also... A quick reply would be great >< as I'm in game trying to decide it now! =^- ^=

You don't really "join" guilds per say (as far as I know), you just go to them to purchase things for that class with guild marks.
but how do you get guild marks ><

The only way I know of is to randomly have them be a guildleve reward, but I haven't heard of anyone seeing them yet in open beta.
Can you do the guildleves more then once?

I've been looking all over so many different forums. How do you start crafting? Where do you buy the tools needed for it?
I started as a miner and figured I'd start blacksmithing with the materials I get, but I have no idea where to go or how to start smithing.

most crafting tools can only be bought at the respected guild. as for crafting you can do leve quests. they provide the ingredients for a few tries but you don't get to keep them nore then finished product. leve quests for crafting is a little bit more complicated then stranded fighting ones. you start them. find the starting NPC (in some cases can be hell) and they request a product and say they give you the items to make it. then you go to synergize. click "requested item" and it will put what you need in the boxes. and just have at it! once you success in making the items. talk to the NPC agan to finish the leve and get your leve rewards. usaly a good amount of gil and some crafting materials :D
