Im looking to kill this, and no one will help. So im wondering whats the least you can kill it with a normal setup(not rdm/nin x2). Pld whm aaand.....
we just did it with 12-15ppl.

Pretty easy. kited it around a rock. had about 2-3 deaths. it was fun.

Could probably be done with a few less, just more risk involved and such. Just letting you know how much we did it with.
Depending on how long you want the fight to be it looks doable with 6, maybe less, if you know what you're doing. We'll be trying it with 6-8 Wednesday if our token rng shows up. Just read up on it (sandworms in general even) in advance.
i 5 manned it, 4 blm and a rdm kiting it around a rock :S pretty easy, just took a bit

Just be sure if you're using a PLD you have enough people in range to absorb Gorge's damage. And don't buff yourselves to hell because you don't want it absorbing ***like Minuet and (if you're rdm likes to buff like mine does) Ice Spikes.

think it would be possible for a blm/nin with +movement speed to solo before time ran out?
uhh never played BLU so I have absolutely no idea ^^
edit: we just did with the setup I posted or at least very similar to it, its a clean kill with no problems

I'm probably gonna get flamed for this. However it can be done w/ 6. mnk, sam, blm, rdm, whm, brd.
Back up against the wall near cats. I blink tanked it on mnk w/ no difficulty. Have mages stand behind it in range of gorge. once it uses gorge sam and mnk go either side like the charm salvage boss. once it uses dis-gorge tank it back up front. Takes roughly 20min

and can be also tanked by 1 PLD/nin if you cant rely on your DDs to tank it, plus blm wont pull hate off ya as easy.

Because everyone is saying use PLD^^ I went in the setup right after salvage. The thf changed to blm because it was just an experiment.
i'd hope most people here are reasonable enough to concede that there is more than one way to skin a cat

Definitely don't need a pld to tank it, mnk/nin sam/nin brd rdm/drk and rdm/whm killed pretty easily, stun gorge, try to stun the buff stealing move, get out of its face for disgorge.

I don't know that it's flee speed but when a few from my linkshell fought him he moved fast enough to chase down people in crimson pants and kill them.
We came back with similar to the first response, about 15 people, and killed him that way.
Ive killed him with 3 blm and a death penalty cor. The COR is able to hold hate with his shots(if he has death penalty) over the blm. He just took advantage of bad pathing around a rock to kite with skadi boots while shoosting and the blm nuking. BLM were sub NIN for if they took hate. You could prolly do this with just the 3 BLM/NIN but heralds gaiters would be necessary ASA pants(8%)prolly isnt enough.

You don't need a ton to kill him. Someone mentioned absorbing gorges...but why? The important thing to bring are stunners. Stun gorge/disgorge and any run of the mill PLD can tank this guy. Try to tank him from the back...I wasn't able to do so but someone in my ls said when he low manned it, the worm would not turn (yeah I didn't believe it, but he insisted).
Honestly if your ls is doing abyssea, and they refuse to go kill that worm and get such a sexy great axe out of it, its time to leave your ls or find a set that hunts abyssea nm's.

Straight tanked MNK/NIN, RDM/WHM, BRD/WHM and WHM/RDM.
PLD,WHM,BLM,SAM, maybe a BRD and RDM too. Thats more than enough.
