TY gradd.. I'm sorry I should have clarified myself in saying that skill/mgc acc is bigger then int for drk mgc but my acc is pretty up there so I gear a bit for int... and the more int seems to = less resistance on high lvl nm's.

It stacks, as far as I know.
I'm not sure what the best set would be for endark (stacking purely dark skill). Easy to get items would be: Demon's Harness, Dark Torque, +2 Legs, Dark Earring. Harder to get items may be: Appetance Crow (The NM also drops a great ammo for Drk), Merciful Cape, Casso Sash, some HQs from the easy to get stuff.
This is what I'm using as a general set puts me over 505 dark magic skill on non darkdays. I have alot of other options for dread spikes, or dark weather/darkdays. Also the chuparossa mantle for absorbs.

I heard it doesn't stack, but i haven't seen any proof and I'm WAAAAYYY too lazy to sit there and try it out on any mobs. BUT if you can find some hard evidence i would love to see it so i can swap out my earring

Starting Potency = 12 + floor( Dark Magic Skill ÷ 20 )×3 - floor( Dark Magic Skill ÷ 40 )
Dark magic skill for endark is 20 per tier. Don't hurt yourself without making sure you're not just exercising yourself.

This minus the Dark Earring is exactly 500 skill with 8/8 dark magic merits. I'm not sure if 520 is another tier or if it caps at 500 skill like many other spells seem to, and I don't have an Abyssal (or the hands sadly) to find out. I'm not sure if there's any other dark magic skill options... Aptus Earring from the taru ASA BCNM gives small amounts of various magic skills, but I've not heard of it giving dark magic skill. If it can get dark magic skill, you could sub out Avesta Bangles for Pavor Gauntlets and still cap with Dark Earring + Aptus Earring. Not aware of any other skill augments in relevant slots.
Feet has BST stuff, legs are Hachiryu+0.1. However it appears that Aptus Earring can get dark magic skill augments, which is probably saving my proverbial bacon in terms of getting to 500 skill because I doubt anyone would be willing to pass up ADL farming for selling me some bangles* at a remotely reasonable price.
I'd rather have the flexibility of an earring even if only casting prefight, especially given that I may build TP prior to the fight.
What's the word on Striga vs Appetence drain/aspir +potency%.

Nothing wrong with it if you can afford the inventory. 500 skill is supposed to be the cutoff for additional endark benefit (just like embrava). There really isn't any other application besides endark other than better drain/aspirs.

Weird that they put Dark Skill on both your AF2 and AF3 legs. They should have put that 15 skill on like the feet or something. I hate when they put redundant stats on pieces of Job Specific gear of the same slot.

I also carry around as much drk situational gear i can get away with, from PDT, MDT, TP, TP under certain conditions, WS, drk magic skill, enfeebling, fast cast, proc weapons, panaceas for legion few different types of food, medicines for random crap, and even all the absorbing sachets. I just figure there is a time and a place for each of it and I rather be prepared. Idm losing my inventory over it I have fun with the job

i think anyone who takes drk seriously needs atleast tp, regain tp, haste cap tp, ws and pdt sets, add on mdt dark magic and fastcast if you use drk in every possible place you can
btw a decent dark magic set can save your *** in lowman situations (skill influences interuption rates too remember)
