Funny enough, alot of new pc's will prolly play 14 better than 11 :X

Nothing like being able to run Crysis smoothly at max settings, yet dropping to 15 FPS in XI any time more than 5 people get on the screen.

absolutely agree

rather wait some time before playing a solid game than get a bug-ridden game that needs 12 patches before it's even playable.

I would also guess that they would purposely delay it due to the new expansions coming out so they can make a quick profit before releasing FFXIV.

I don't tend to believe rumors until we get word straight from SE themselves, but I wouldn't be surprised about this in the least. Friend of mine is in the alpha and the way he describes playability, they're making progress day by day but they've still got a long way to go. Besides, most large projects like that end up getting pushed back at some point, would probably be kind of naive to look for it before 11.

^ This!

FF14 was speculated to drop in time for Xmas '10, but with the final level cap increase and 3rd Abyssea add-on scheduled for a Dec. '10 release, why in God's name would they choke the life out of FFXI and cut into profits by dropping FF14 at the same time.

I bet it does come out months earlier than all the rest. Everyone will be "noobs" when we get it and they will be in the 30 - 40's making everyone life miserable like they do already. The Japanese people have NO HONOR.

I would say, please don't spend your money for a new computer that would handle FFXIV until we hear official release date of the game. In short, more you wait, the better and less costly PC you may buy for FFXIV. Also I don't expect game to be released until early 2012.

If you thought you were getting the game this year, you were shooting for the stars.

Still in Alpha testing no? Then Beta > Then patch and fix/finish the game. > Then release Final product. We a good ways away still. Which is partially good new for us wanting to experience all the fancy lv99 stuff :D

Hopefully they hammer out and refine the sluggish ATB Combat. The system they have right now is just way too slow paced for a single player controlling a single character. I have heard that the current combat system is NOT the final, just a placeholder system to allow the Alpha test to take place.

Probably because they want the English release of 光の４戦士：ファイナルファンタジー外伝　to be more of a success/not overlooked. It's coming out in early October in the USA which is a little close to original FFXIV release date.

If you're a PVP fanatic it is. But I never understood the point of a PVP game that comes down to "Who got the best geerz dawg" instead of Who actually plays better. That's why I like FFXI's PVE focus, artfully crafted challenges, pitting the player(s) against a stronger opponent who must be overcome with cunning and cooperation.

WoW PVE's remind me sort of like Demolition in MW2, everyone runs in and kills eachother (Trying to do the most DPS dawg), with only 2-3 people actually trying to complete the objective.
