RNG, even when not /NIN, can still take advantage of a Legion Scutum (or a level 30 SJ-specific shield/Moogle shield). Something to keep in mind when considering this as an option for RNG.
Not a bad option for Gandiva users if you can talk your LS into letting you come to abyssea, dynamis, or voidwalker to process weakness triggers as rng/nin. Mainhand this to get the ranged attack while TPing, and offhand a greed scimitar for the DEX. Or switcharoo for sword ws proc. No makki shakki? No problem! Offhand carabiner's axe for more store tp. Its not a gamebreaker piece... But it sure as hell opens a few versitility options.
@Bismark.Helel
The dagger is a viable option if you're building for any of the three crit-based ranged weaponskills inside or outside of Abyssea. Nobody is arguing that; but that doesn't make this dagger any less situational.
The first issue is that, depending on support and situation, the only benefit you may gain from subbing Warrior is the bonuses from Fencer as capping ranged attack is not difficult to do. I feel I can omit the gains/losses imposed by subbing Samurai instead.
The second issue is that, with the Atma combination you listed, your critical hit rate should be no less than ridiculous; and unless you need that 5% gain from Fencer to reach 100% critical hit rate, you'll probably be better off using a different weapon instead.
I should probably mention that I'm primarily a longbow user, which isn't nearly as flexible when it comes to Store TP requirements.
@Quipto, dual wielding defeats the whole purpose of this dagger and rng should never be /nin in the first place...
If you're going /Sam then by all means use a staff. I'm talking specifically about /war and fencer.
Onto your next argument, no, vulcan's staff + grip does not beat +5% crit rate and slight less str.
For your third argument, I'm not sure why you are having trouble getting a 5-hit with /war. There's more than enough store tp gear out there for you to use. Plus, I assume you're talking about bow? Your argument does not apply to gun users.
@Kaomii
Why would you ever use any other WS besides the three you just listed lol? Are you expecting rangers to use slug shot/sidewinder or something? Get rid of griffon claw. Use RR GH and SS then use critical hit WS's like you should be.
This dagger really isn't good for RNG unless you're Dual Wielding another stat boosting dagger.
This with Legion Scutum /sam you lose out on 6 STR from Hasso right off the bat. Not to mention Vulcan's + whatever grip you may need beats this when you sub anything else.
@Helel
Sorry, but i'll go ahead and keep my 5-hit /war. Not gonna happen with this dagger and 6-hit with 5% crit rate isn't going to beat that without sacrificing something else for STP.
