I I'm guessing he got scammed for Dyna-D merc run for 25M for wave3 clear. It was sus because Obohh was shouting for Dyna-Sandy(D) W3 and saying it was for mythic weapon aug. Mythic weapon aug KI is from Dyna-Bastok (D).
You literally get a 2 million gil allowance weekly just from sparks/accolades, 25k is pocket change.

Well... if the guy was selling clears for 25,000,000, and you was only giving him 25,000, that is not a scam. You did not give the right amount of money for the clear. The guy should have refused the money and told you to come back when you have 25 million. Sounds like a communication issue.

My advice is to go to a Linkshell Concierge, Northern San d'Oria (K-9), Bastok Mines (K-9), Windurst Walls (C-13), and pick up a linkshell pearl that roughly fits you. Greet everyone politely, ask if and when they do the content you are trying to complete. If there is enough overlap, ask them if you could join that event.
When there are people with whom you mesh well with, create your own subgroups for Ambu, Sortie, Omen, Oddy or whatever else is still on your to do list.

A quick check on EpicNPC to see the going rate is like 0.22 a mil with one guy selling at 0.17... (Why do ppl RMT this game still, I can only expect the gil-flation is even worse than the last time I was playing lol) Anyways that's not even pocket change. You cant round that up to 1 cent.

Not entirely sure if it still applies to merc agreements, but scamming is one of the things that GMs have been allowed to actually act on throughout time. If you got scammed, you should take the time to report it via GM call. Some chance you'll get your gil back, good chance they get a strike on an account.
I don't think this thread needs to be as hostile as it is; it seems apparent that there is an increasing trend of fake mercs taking gil and disappearing with it.
