Why wouldn't they postpone the marathon since various areas around NYC are in need? I would be angry too! No one knows.

I would be angry too! mind you on the back of people deposed from their homes on an island long forgotten... >_> Money... NYC marathon brings in a lot of it... various people have made donations for Sandy relief in the name of the marathon as well... it was at about 1.75 million last I checked... businesses there make extra money during that time as well so a bunch of them are all for the marathon... All the people flying in for it... Bloomberg's major appeal was for NYC's economy...

Those each could have powered 400 *** homes. *** you, Mayor. *** you to hell. To be fair, the NYC marathon is an economic shot in the arm the city needs coming off a disaster like this. Businesses have already lost a weeks worth of income and most of the marathon course avoids the damaged parts of the city. The Staten Island boro president was pitching a fit for no reason when his borough does nothing other than start the race with a jog across the Verezano. This can't be rescheduled either since people are flying in from all around the world to compete or represent their various countries. I imagine it isn't as simple as "yeah guys, next week instead.". The entire tri-state area got a wake up call from Sandy that we aren't invincible, we need to get prepared, climate change isn't liberal '***' and that our city is fragile as much as New Yorkers like to portray themselves as the toughest people. A week without the subway and people are going through withdrawal over the fact that Brooklyn isn't a hop, skip and a jump from Manhattan or that gas has become a daily quest to get in Queens, Brooklyn and Long Island. The loss of life has been minimal, the economic damage brutal and the mental damage devastating. It could have been alot worse (Katrina much?) and places like City Island/Atlantic City got damn near vaporized from what I've seen but this is a lesson for all of us to learn from or suffer somewhere again down the line. Once in a while, instead of going home for a sammich & hanging with my dog, I'll get some fast food tacos, & go hang out by a creek & some trees in a semi-secluded place. well as I make my face all fat with tacos, & contently listen to uhhyeahdude, the boss came walking by with her dogs & husband. just what you want to see when you're eating fast food, people excersizing. -.-
Morning all.
Don't forget to vote for Pedro! (Also I was so early I was the 7th in line =D) Carbuncle.Skulloneix

Morning Kaly and morning all!
I hate voting sometimes.
Besides the president and representatives, we vote for *** board of trustees for UofMichigan, MSU, and even Macomb Community College! LIKE I GIVE A ***! Then there's those "vote up to 5 --lists 5 people--" ***. I DON'T KNOW THESE PEOPLE! Then we have these *** special-group-proposals-to-amend-our-state-constitution-for-their-own-profit ***. STOP GETTING POLITICS INVOLVED WITH YOUR HOBBIES! Especially this bridge Amendment (Michigan) where this greedy *** wants to stop the building of a 2nd bridge to Canada cuz he wants more money. *** dickfuck, WE NEED THAT BRIDGE! Especially since Canada is paying for it. |
