I think the fault actually begins and ends with UltimatePay. I opened an account with them to try and buy an UltimateCard or whatever and they wouldn't take my money either. It looks like SE pushes their credit card transactions through UltimatePay (or at least the same CC service).

Figured it out. They push everything through UltimatePay, which flags your activity as potentially fraudulent for these things:

UltimatePay Rep said:
-Your payment information is incorrect
-You are sending your payment behind a proxy
-Your billing information does not match the information logged on your order
- Your billing address and computer's IP address is too far apart

They give you "fraudulence points" if you meet the above criteria, which take time to decay. The rep estimated mine would be gone in about a week, at which point my girlfriend would be able to use my credit card (not fulfilling any of the above conditions) and buy crysta.

I had the same thing happen to me, went to customer support and the *** ended the chat on me. They are very rude. Did you have noscript or adblock on ? That was my problem.

It wasn't No Script or AdBlock, it was because I was trying to pay with a North American Credit Card while in Germany. Apparently UltimatePay feels the need to act as a fraudulence barrier for us (as if that's not what credit cards are for).

By trying all my different options I built up enough fraudulence points that my girlfriend couldn't get through by the time she tried it from the US.
