SAM/RNG = ACP win?

Over and over I keep hearing from friends that have completed it, saying that melees have a disadvantage in finishing ACP, because of the NM's charming ability. Although I hear RNGs attend the events and it works out. So could a SAM/RNG be the only opportunity to finish it? I want that Nuevo Coselete lol.

THF/RNG works also....... and if its only melee that are at a dissavantage or set ups are picky how would that fight get done?
simple to just sleep who is charmed unless it's an aoe charm.

RNG, SAM/RNG and SMN have a huge advantage on ACP.
Predator Claws does fairly consistant damage, 500-600+ per BP. SAM also doubles up to kill "Clones" if it needs aswell.

So I guess it's the best option for the BC then? Good thing I already started leveling RNG.

I have only and would only zerg this fight. 3/3 so far.
RDM/DRK BRD and 4 DD including WAR SAM and MNK.
The boss has very limited HP and if you throw a few good 2hrs at it you can kill it in under a minute.

SAM/RNG, DD-geared COR, RNG, SMN, and PUP have a huge advantage here when doing the ranged attack method.
It'll take some time, but it can be easilly and safely done.
Better make friends with a bunch of them :p

The ranged puppet likes to go stand close enough to the mob to get itself killed by AoE.

Ludoggy said: what about cor? people say cor doesnt always do loldmg I did this fight last night. PLD/RDM, WHM/BLM, SMN/WHM RDM/DRK, WAR/NIN (clone killer) and COR/RNG (me). The SMN's Garuda definitely out damaged me, but I held my own. Averaged 50-60 damage per shot 300+ barrages and slugshots. Plus kept refresh up for mages and warlock's roll kept the RDM/DRKs stuns effective. Long fight, but was fun, and we won with little trouble.

Actually the fight can be won without zerging and without any ranged damage dealers: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TOc5cLXGV3Q

If I had to do this again, I'd go PLD/RDM, RDM/DRK, BLM, and SMNx3.
With that setup, no one should get charmed at all.
PLD just runs to the corner over and over again after draw in, and burns through MP when he loses hate.
BLM stuns -aga until he sees a clone pop. I single T4 nuke disposes of the clone.
SMNs damage the crystal. Predator Claws has done up to 1300 damage for me. Average is about 550-600.
In my experience (admittedly it is limited...I beat it first time through and have only helped a couple of times), most melee tend to feed the crystal too much TP too fast. RNGs often do the same thing.
If they can be disciplined about giving the crystal TP (i.e. not giving more TP than their support can handle), then the only limitation I see for using melee is the charmga.

sam/war(me), mnk/war, war/sam, drg/sam, brd/whm, rdm/drk = win. 1 min 45 seconds or so worth of win.

If you want to do this fight SAM/RNG I'd really suggest having if not really close to capped archery.
I tried this fight myself as SAM/RNG with archery at 184 and had R.Acc coming out of the *** and still missed about 90% of my Sidewinders.

I won this fight(finally 1/8 or 9) as SAM/RNG. My archery skill was 200, when I finished helping my friends after I won it was at 222. For my win, I was the only ranged attacker. Our setup was PLD, RDM/DRK, WHM, SMN, BLM, SAM/RNG. My gear set-up was:
Main: Fire Staff(for the STR) Ranged: Shigeto Bow/Scorpion Arrows Head: O.hat Neck: PCC Earring: Drone Earringx2 Body: Shinimusha hara-ate Hands: Seiryu's Kote Ring: Behemoth Ringx2 Back: Amemet Mantle+1 Waist: Warwolf Belt(for the STR+) Legs: Myochin Haidate(for the STR) Feet: Leaping Boots
Also used Squid Sushi +1 and had Hasso up for the extra STR boost. I was averaging about 21.??TP when my ranged attacks landed, not sure if the store TP from Shinimusha carries over to /ra.
After the win I went and got my body then helped out a friend. This time the set-up was RDM/DRK, BST, SAM/RNG, RNG, WHM, PLD. Lucky for me this time I decided to parse it. Was mostly aiming for the SAM/RNG vs. RNG, never thought I would put it to use but here are the results.
Damage Summary: RNG - 11645(40.62%) SAM - 9256(32.29%)
Range Damage: RNG - 6605(56.72%) SAM - 3310(35.76%)
WS Damage: RNG - 4005(34.39%) (used 6 Sidewinders) SAM - 5369(58.01%) (used 15 Sidewinders[missed one])
Ability Damage: RNG(Barrage) - 1035 (8.89%) (used Barrage twice) SAM(Barrage) - 577 (6.23%) (used Barrage 3 times)
Hopefully that will help clear some questions up.

If your doing the tank method.
You only need 1 healer, PLD,RNG(~sam/rng)x3,RDM/DRK~(DRK)
This setup everyone has their own job to do. Healer ONLY focus on healing PLD, if PLD does things right(by running back to the ramp and keeping hate) the Job Abilities can/will be avoided{except Judgement}The Stunner(RDM/DRK) ONLY focuses on stunning the Aga's, and if they happen to stun only the aga's no damage should be dealt to the other pt members. The add-on killers will be the RNG's, they kill faster than a BLM, plus the RNG's can TP up on the add-ons. If everyone focuses on their OWN job correctly this will be a smooth run :D
